Jon Mozo History
Jonathan Wayne Mozo was born in Honolulu in 1971 to Julia W. Middleton of Kensington, Maryland and Reynaldo A. Mozo of Cavite, Philippines. Jon is the second of four boys in the Mozo clan. His childhood and youth were spent living abroad as a "military brat." Jon's four years of high school were spent in three countries: Spain, Philippines and Japan! Upon graduation in 1989, he immediately moved back to Hawaii, the place he identified with and always called his home.
Jon went to BYU Hawaii and developed a talent for picture taking while working at the Polynesian Cultural Center, where he met his wife and learned about her Maori culture. He left Hawaii in 1994 and took a job in San Diego doing photofinishing. Six months later he moved out to the east coast where he worked for a number of labs and studios in the Baltimore and DC areas. After two years of gaining invaluable experience, and sacrificing much island living, Jon moved back to Hawaii. With these new experiences and knowledge, he anxiously started his own photography business in 1996.
Jon lived with his wife, Nikki and their four children in HauÔula. When not shooting photos, Jon enjoyed surfing, skateboarding, foosball, coaching kids soccer as well as just spending time with family and friends. Jon was a people-person who especially loved children and you could always find him happiest when he was surrounded by them.
