The North Shore Slide A body boarder rushes down a pristine wave on the North Shore of Oahu. During the winter months the North Shore comes alive with consistent high surf. Storms off the Aleutian Islands in Alaska send down swells travelling thousands of miles. Out of deep water they abruptly hit the shallow shelf on the North Shore.
