"It was amazing to be down there with them. It was absolutely breathtaking. Literally, I had to remind myself to come up for air! I wasn't scared at all as I had a great guide who took me down, and knew how to handle these Reef Black Tips. It was a therapeutic experience, as a few years back I had a close encounter with a very large Tiger shark in Hawaiian waters. It nearly cost me my life and kept me out of the water and off my healing feet for a few months. I respect sharks and realize that I am a guest in their domain. I don't blame sharks for attacks, it is their nature and role to dominate the ocean. It is us that causes curiosity and confusion by venturing into their kingdom!"
